The 37th Area Artists’ Annual Juried Exhibit opening Artist Reception & Awards Presentation is

This exhibit showcases art from the Bay Area art community.  Judge, Victoria Sheridan selected 65 pieces from 150 entries – and includes acrylic, oil, watercolor, mixed media, encaustic, pastel,  monoprints, glass, digital art, charcoal, clay, and photographic prints.

Judge Victoria Sheridan has taught art history for over 20 years.  She has a M.A. in Art History from The University of California, Davis and a M.A. in Humanities from Dominican University of California. Sheridan has been the recipient of grants from The Getty Research Institute, a fellowship from the Canadian Centre for Architecture, an internship at The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and a research grant to visit the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Victoria Sheridan also has an extensive career photojournalism with photographs published in Bay Area newspapers.  She has exhibited her fine art prints in galleries in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, and she has taught at several Bay Area colleges and universities.  She continues to shoot documentary projects and daily assignment work for news publications.  Her work can be seen at www.victoriasheridan.com
